Bouldering Sessions on Jan 13th

Happy New Year everyone!

NAC is excited to announce the first bouldering event and friendly competition of 2025! Who doesn’t love a new personal goal to kick-start the new year? The event will take place over multiple days to help make it more accessible for everyone’s busy schedule.

Here’s a breakdown of what the event will look like:

January 7-11: Open Climb

  • Come in anytime during these 5 days to register and start climbing! 15 new bouldering routes will be specially made for these 5 days (5 beginner, 5 intermediate, and 5 advanced routes). After you register you will be given an evaluation card in which you will record which routes you’ve climbed, and how many attempts it took you to finish
  • By January 11th, return your evaluation card back to the NAC staff. Based on which climbs you completed and how many attempts they took, we will add up your 5 highest scoring routes. These final scores will determine who will be competing in the finals on the evening of January 13th. But of course, anyone is welcome to come and cheer on all of our finalists!

January 13th: Competition

  • The 12 top scoring participants will be invited to compete in the finals on the evening of January 13th! Finalists will be split into intermediate and advanced categories.
  • New routes will be set for the finals, and participants are encouraged to work together and exchange strategies
  • Prizes will be given to the top participants

Registration for this event will be 1,000yen.

Happy climbing!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year. 2025 has finally begun. Today in Kutchan, the sun briefly appeared in the morning, and then the snow that is typical of Kutchan started falling. We have already started skiing. This year marks the 30th anniversary of NAC, and we would like to express our gratitude and have a fun adventure with everyone. Thank you for your continued support this year.

New Year’s Day 2025

Happy Halloween !

Today is Halloween! The Hirafu area where NAC is located is hosting Hirafu Halloween for children, so NAC baked lots of cookies for the cute ghosts. We hope you have a great time!

Recommended Lakes and Marshes in Autumn

Niseko is also famous for its many lakes. The easiest to get to is Lake Hangetsu at the foot of Mt. Yotei. It takes about an hour to go down to the lakeside and enjoy a trek around it, but if you just want to look at the lake, you can get there by leaving the car and walking for 10 minutes.

Today, only a few trees and fallen leaves around Lake Hangetsu were red, but it seems that the autumn leaves are just beginning to change color. There are lots of mushrooms. Come and enjoy the Niseko autumn at your leisure.

There is also a variety of other sights to explore, such as Kagami-numa (Kagami Numa), for those who want to get a more thorough feel for the mountains, Shinsen-numa (Shinsen Numa), which is higher up in the mountain but can be reached by walking on a boardwalk, and Onuma (Onuma), which can be enjoyed by traversing the mountain and doing some light hiking. Be sure to enjoy these sights before the snow starts to fall.
